Studio Policy

Studio Policies

Please note the following guidelines regarding all classes:

1. We request that students carefully observe our dress code.

2. NO GUM or FOOD in the Dance Studio.

3. Secure your hair neatly back and away from your face.

4. Any student arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted to class. For your safety and to receive full benefit from your class, please arrange for a make-up class if you expect to be very late.

5. All students are encouraged not to leave the room once class has begun. Please allow for appropriate restroom use prior to class.

6. During class if a student complains of being ill, or sustains an injury and cannot participate, the instructor or front office staff will contact parents immediately.
7.  LOBBY IS CLOSED to GUEST UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

School Age/Teen Students:

Please practice respect. Students are not to be socializing in a disruptive manner during the class with other students. Please come early or stay late to enjoy friends in the waiting area. Please honor your teacher and fellow students by giving full attention and co-operation. You will be advised if we feel any student is not well adjusted to the classroom environment for any reason over time.

Tutu’s & Tap Shoes Students:

Preschool children may need a parent’s attention from time to time for various reasons including bathroom or behavior issues. Please sit in your car in the parkinig lot of the studio when your children are in class so we can reach you if needed or have another parent responsible during your absence. Please make sure your child is potty-trained and can dress/undress themselves. It is not uncommon for first time students to cry/not want to come to class for the first couple of sessions. Please do not become discouraged as they may take a few sessions to adjust to the new classroom environment. These young ones are welcome to observe from the waiting room or inside the classroom until they feel comfortable to participate. We make every effort to have all children feel safe and cared for in a loving and inspiring learning environment.

Your Dancers Safety is our priority

Here are some of the precautions we are taking:

· “Six-Feet-Safe” in the classrooms: The floor is marked 6 feet a part to show dancers where to stand. Many of our little ones already dance on their spot so this will not be new to them.

  • -No more than 12 people (teachers and students) in the entire studio at one time.

· Dance bags & street shoes are now located in the Lobby at the entrance.

NO STREET SHOES ALLOWED ON THE STUDIO FLOOR. ONLY DANCE SHOES exclusively used on the studio floor.

· Staff will wear face mask/coverings

· Social Distancing upon entering & exiting the building will be practiced.

· All Barres wiped down by staff between classes if used at all. Older students will use disposable gloves (provided by SDC staff) when using barres.

· Props and mats will not be used during this time

· Students must wash/sanitize hands before and after class

· Staff will wipe down the restroom after each use. For those students coming in for just one class, please encourage your dancer to use the restroom at home before coming to SDC.

· Class times will be modified for transition times and to limit the number of people in the building.

· Studio floor and frequently touched areas and shoe cubbies will be sanitized after each class and disinfected daily.

· Parents are asked to email or call us instead of coming into the studio with any questions or concerns. If in person conversation is required please practice social distancing and wear a mask when in the studio

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:

  • · “Drop-Off” your dancer at the front entrance. To limit the number of people in the building, only students, staff and Faculty will be allowed in the studio. Lobby area will be closed until further notice.

  • · SDC Staff will greet dancer at the door, shoes removed and left in lobby, hand sanitizer used, and escorted or directed to their designated spot in the studio.

WHO SHOULD NOT COME TO CLASS AT SDC:

· Any dancer feeling ill should stay home. (Fever, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, etc.)

· Any dancer living with a family member who is ill should stay home.

· Anyone who feels they cannot comply with all procedures should also stay home.
